Analysis of the Degree Of Implementation of Environmental Measures in the Sphere of Water Protection Against Anthropogenic Pollution According To The Strategy Of The State Environmental Policy of Ukraine for the Period up to 2020

Purpose. The article provides an analysis of the degree of implementation of the tasks and activities of the Strategy of the State Environmental Policy of Ukraine for the period until 2020 in relation to Goal 2 to improve the environmental situation and increase the level of environmental safety in the field of water resources protection through the reconstruction of existing and construction of new urban treatment facilities in order to reduce to 2020 years of the level of anthropogenic pollution. Methods. The system analysis was carried out on the basis of information, statistical and calculated data on the national reports of the Ministry of Regional Development. Results It has been established that the planned environmental protection measures in the field of wa-ter resources protection, especially in the area of water disposal, are often not implemented due to the lack of funding at the level of the state budget and national target programs. However, in recent years, a posi-tive trend has been noted to improve the situation in the field of repair, reconstruction, modernization and construction of systems of communal treatment facilities. It has been determined that the dynamics of changes in the volume (in percentage) of insufficiently treated wastewater discharged into water bodies tends to decrease. Conclusions. On the basis of data processing, the fulfillment of Goal 2 was confirmed in full, namely, the reconstruction of existing and construction of new urban wastewater treatment plants was carried out in order to reduce the level of water pollution by pollutants (primarily organic substances, nitrogen and phosphorus compounds) by 15 percent by 2020, and also reduced by 2020 by 20 percent (to the base year) the discharge of insufficiently treated wastewater.

Use of macrofit indexes for evaluation environmental state of surface waters of Ukraine

Puporse. Approbation of the application of the method for assessment the ecological state of the rivers of the forest-steppe and steppe physiographic regions of Ukraine and justifying the possibility of using the aquatic macrophyte communities in the "Methodology for the Environmental Assessment of Surface Water Quality in the Corresponding Categories". Methods. Based on materials of the expeditionary surveys with the usage of MMOR Polish method the typing and environmental assessment of Seversky Donets basin within the Kharkiv region are done. Results. The results of the application of the method for assessing the state of rivers with the help of macrophytes MOOR for the Seversky Donets River basin were carried out for the first time and showed significant consistency with earlier assessments of the ecological state of the Seversky Donets River on a complex of chemical and biological methods. The results of MIR indices varied within 23.0 - 37.9. The analyses of the obtained data indicates that "moderate" ecological status (Grade 3 – eutrophic status) was observed on the majority sites. "Good" status (Grade 2 – mesotrophic status) noted in 7 sites and only 2 sites with "bad" status (Grade 5 – hippertrophic status). An spatial distribution ecological status by MIR of Seversky Donets River and its major tributaries within the Kharkiv region. The classification scheme for the use of the index MIR in the "Methodology environmental assessment of surface water quality for the respective categories" was done. Conclusions. The use of the MMOR method is advisable in the "Methodology for the Environmental Assessment of Surface Water Quality ...". The method allows to attract the macrophyte community to assess the ecological state of surface water bodies, which makes an ecological assessment of the quality of surface waters more thorough.

The integrated assessment of a current state of the Siversky Donets river withing the Kharkiv region

Із використанням моніторингової інформації за 2014 рік здійснено інтегральну оцінку сучасного стану й просторових змін якості вод річки Сіверський Донець. Показано, що найкраща якість води, як за With the use of monitoring data for 2014 was carried out an integrated assessment of the current state and spatial changes in water quality of the river Siversky Donets. It is shown that the best water quality, according to the water management assessment (Index = 1.35) and the environmental (Ie = 2.99) was observed in Pecheniz'ke reservoir. The overall tendency of worsening water quality downstream of the Siversky Donets is noted. The worst water quality according to assessment for water management and the most significant decline in the quality of water (Index = 2.97, +1.62 from the previous paragraph, Ie = 3.92, +0.93) was recorded below the confluence riv. Udy. The worst water quality for environmental assessment (Ie = 4.32) in Index = 2.89 is noted below Izium.
