Health Risk Assessment on the Use of Oil-Contaminated Drinking Water by Means of Method Rais (Us-Epa)

Purpose. The risk assessment for human health using petroleum contaminated drinking water from mine wells. Methods. Methods RAIS (US-EPA). Results. There are results of the risk assessment for human health using petroleum contaminated drinking water from mine wells. For the calculation of risk measurement results used oil content in the water which is taken away from the mine wells in 2015 when examining basin of Siv.Donets within Balakliyivskiy, Chuguevskiy and Izyumskiy districts (Kharkiv region). To solve this problem we used technique RAIS (US-EPA). Conclusions. The most sensitive to the pollutant children; greatest gravity of prolonged exposure is fixed dermal contact. The highest risk of chronic effects observed with village Andriyivka Balakliyivskiy district and in the village Stara Hnylycia Chuguevskiy district.

Comprehensive Approach for Evaluation of Environmental Risks Military Facilities Armed Forces of Ukraine

Reduction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provides for the transfer of large areas owned by the Ministry of Defence to the national economy. Specific military activities so that the soil at these areas may be contaminated with various chemicals including petrochemicals and their derivatives. The concept of environmental risk assessment the daily activities of the troops that are related to soil pollution with oil products allows to estimate the impact on the environment under components (atmosphere, hydrosphere, soil) in accordance with existing methods and using the desirability function and determine the predictive value of risk changes in the surrounding natural environment for military installations.

Optimization Area Military Facilities For Social Inquiry (Illustrated Chuguyiv Districts Of Kharkiv Region)

The article discusses one of the issues related to the possible use of the territories that belonged to the time of independence the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. In Kharkiv region there are a significant number of military facilities and landfills, which are in poor condition and are not just specific environmental hazard, but even criminal. Identified methodological approaches and offered examples of calculations for optimization possibilities the former military facilities located in the area Chuguyiv Kharkiv region.

Methodology of evaluation and recommendations for the reinstatement of the military-industrial objects on the territory of Kharkiv region (for example Chuguev district)

In modern Ukraine there is a tendency of transfer of former military objects in economic use on the social request. Therefore an urgent need for environmental certification and comprehensive environmental assessment of these areas are in conformity with the standards of environmental quality and safety for the life and health population. Article is considered one of the issues associated with the possible use of territories that belonged since independence the Ministry of defence of Ukraine. Defined methodological approaches and offered exam-ples of calculations on the possibility of determination and optimization of territories of former military objects located in the Chuguev district, Kharkiv region.

Utilization of waste motor oils: environmental-and-economical aspect

Reasons of environment pollution by waste motor oils (WMO) and aspects of environmental safety of WMO are considered. The volume of WMO generation by vehicles is calculated for Kharkiv Oblast (year 2013). Economic losses for environment pollution caused by illegal WMO utilization are calculated. Based on experimental researches, ash and sulphur contents were measured. Comparison of obtained data with M40 masut parameters has shown that WMO ash and sulphur contents are higher than the same parameters for masut. In ash from M100 masut ten heavy metals were identified; concentration of all metals (except Cu) is WMO ash was higher than their concentration in M100 masut ash. It is shown that WMO can be utilized through burning only in case of implementation of set of protective measures.
