There are considers methodological approaches to assessing the recreation potential of polonynas of Ukrainian Carpathians. Presents an integrated assessment of suitability analysis mountain natural territorial complexes for certain types of tourism, taking into account the socio-economic and cultural aspects and environmental safety territory. The method involves the use of scoring system for evaluating the suitability of landscapes and determination the main and secondary factors that affect the ability to use polonynas for recreational activities. Socio-economic component of the recreational potential should consider the possibility of tourist accommodation and the possibility of selling livestock products. Environmental safety concerns research of human impacts on polonynas and definition recreational capacity of the territory.
